I got this from Varianor

I would certainly consider Kentucky. I hear they got some nice folks down that way.

You Should Live in Kentucky

If you don't want to live in Kentucky, you might also consider:

Louisiana

New Hampshire

Oklahoma

Tennessee

Alabama

Why is that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?" -Ernest Gaines

We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on livejournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights." If you don't believe in gay rights, then just ignore this. Thanks.

I would like to add that I believe in human rights for everyone, since they are constantly trodden upon with hobnailed boots. Gay rights is one piece of that where we can at least do something in this country.

I live in Massachusetts. I have had the honor of walking two good friends down the aisle at their wedding and could not have been prouder.
I have never understood how allowing gay people to marry is a threat to any heterosexual marriage.

Have you ever tried to Google yourself? I've never found anything worth commenting on until I Googled "Invisible Hoser".

Apparently, the term hoser was originated by Bob & Doug MacKenzie (can't remember the actors names).

Checking to see what images might come up was even cooler. The first image was a picture from GenCon of a bunch of us out having some drinks.

I'm probably not going to make it to GenCon this year and seeing that picture made me wish I could still go somehow.

It's been 3 weeks now since we had to put Baker down. While Sara and I have been very sad, our remaining cat Petunia has also had a very difficult time adjusting to a world without her buddy. She has never lived without another cat for company and we've noticed a number of changes in her behavior; lack of interest in eating, skittishness (Baker was always the brave big sister). We brought her in for a check up to make sure nothing was medically wrong with and the Vet gave a clean bill of health. So, we decided to adopt another cat sooner rather than later so that she would have a friend around 24/7.

His name is Bongo (I'll have to post some pictures when I get the chance) and he's 5 months old and very sweet and cuddly. We brought him home Tuesday night, so we're still going through the introduction period with Petunia. I'm hopeful that Petunia will adjust quickly.

I started this livejournal to make it easier to keep track of the journals of all my friends. I thought I might try my hand at some short fiction and post the results here, but I never intended to have this be a diary. I now find that this is probably the best way for me to share some very sad news. Not at all what I had intended as my first post.

I spent New Year's Day playing board games and socializing with friends from my college days. Varianor was good enough to do the driving (about a 2 hour trip, one way) through some nasty weather. When I got home, my wife Sara was worried about one of our cats. Baker was having some trouble breathing. Sara took her to the vets the next morning and we eventually discovered that she had a large tumor over her heart that had caused fluid to build up in her abdomen making it difficult for her to breathe. Given the size of the tumor, even extreme measures would only extend her life for a matter of weeks. My boss allowed me to leave work early and I joined my wife at the vets. Baker was only 5 years old. I firmly believe that part of being a responsible pet owner is being able to keep an animal from suffering needlessly. The decision to put her to sleep is still the hardest thing to do.

I will always cherish my memories of Baker and, eventually I will not be as sad.
